I have no wi-fi for my ipad but have wireless for my laptop. I need to download some free apps from the app store. I thought maybe I could hook up the ipad to my laptop and dowload the apps using the wireless service from laptop? Hope this makes sense what I am asking. Help please. Thank you for any feedback!

In order to prevent iPad users from obtaining utility from vendors not endorsed by Apple, 3rd party development platforms such as Java, Flash, etc. have been banned. These powerful technologies would remove the dependency on the AppStore which in turn means significant losses in revenue to Apple.

You may be able to get around it if you jail break your device, but if you are like most people you will just say screw it and buy a device that lets you, the user, decide what software you will use and what software you will not — not apple.

If you do not have a jailbroken iphone/ipad, you need an apple store account. To get an apple store account you must you a credit card. You can get apple store account outside usa.
