Apple’s iOS 4.3 beta version reveals upcoming features on iPad 2

Apple released its iOS 4.3 beta version for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Apple TV (2nd Generation), giving a possible preview into the upcoming iPad 2 and iPhone 5 features.

The release also confirms that the iOS 4.3 will not be available for iPhone 3G and iPod second generation. The beta version is available in the iOS Dev Center with a build number 8F5148b.

Some features which could hit the iPad are four and five finger gestures. This will add multitasking features to iPad. Thus a four or five finger pinch will lead a user to the home screen, a swiping up gesture will bring the multitasking bar laptop batteries and left and right swipes will assist in navigating between apps.

Macstories reported that iOS 4.3 will also bring the AirPlay video support for third-party apps unlike its earlier feature which limited it to built-in Apple apps. Engadget had reported in November that Apple had built this feature in the iOS 4.2 but had not enabled it for third-party apps. The AirPlay feature supports Apple TV as it allows users to stream digital content from iPhone; iPad and iPod touch to Apple TV. Thus now developers can stream videos to Apple TV from apps directly.

The beta version also includes the Personal Hot Spot feature for iPhones. The feature allows users to share their 3G connection through Wi-Fi with up to five other devices. Recently, Verizon showcased this feature for iPhone’s running on iOS 4.2.5 which raised hopes that all iPhones will entail the hotspot feature. However, the iOS 4.3 beta confirms that the personal hotspot will come by default but will depend as to whether the carrier will support the feature.

It is also surmised that the iOS update will carry location-based services. The Register reported that the Mobile Me settings panel showed a new entry Find My Friends which could be Apple’s version of Google Latitude. The Google Latitude app allows users to see a friend’s location on a map and allows users to directly communicate with them through sms, Gtalk and Gmail.

9to5 Mac reported that the iOS update also brings full screen iAd banner support on iPad.

Apple has been working hard to offer the same experience across the different devices, thus these updates are an attempt to bridge the features across iPad, iPod and iPhone. Unlike Google’s Android launches which have raised concerns about fragmentation, Apple seeks unification across its devices.

I’m ordering a 32GB iPad on Apple’s online store this evening. I have everything I want selected, and all is in my cart, I’ve proceeded to checkout, and the shipping section reads: will ship in 5 – 7 business days. In all past orders I’ve made from Apple, I could change the shipping method, to 2-day shipping for instance. I see no option now. Am I missing something, or is it not available for the iPad currently?

No, it is not possible to get a faster shipping because since the item is new there is a large amount of orders being processed, therefore it will take them longer to ship the iPads out.

Apple?S Ipad And Its Operating Function

Many fans of the Apple iPhone have waited from a number of years for the Apple Tablet. Each announcement there was hope for the tablet and at last it has actually arrived and the iPad is here. Apple has just announced the looming release of the iPad, a touch screen device that could revolutionize the electronics industry. Apple says the Touch was meant mainly to present typical iPad features, not to replicate the iPhone, and it included the Web browser only so users could get onto Wi-Fi to use the mobile music store in certain places that required a log-in screen.

However, maybe it won’t but there is already an extremely bi-partisan view when it comes to liking the new iPad device. Here is a quick overview of what it will be all about. The iPad is essentially a moveable entertainment system. It allows you to watch movies, read ebooks and news stories, play games, listen to music, and also send email. It is sort of a souped up version of the iPod Touch, apart from a significantly larger display. The iPad kind of makes ebook readers on the market look ridiculous; however, they are totally different devices. IPads are computers that can dual as an ebook reader. It may be a tough sell to the person who just wants an ebook reader to spend the extra money for a “fantastic device”.

Getting to view all your videos, read all your books, listens to all your music, and play with all your games and apps. IPad will win several of fans. You can also download stuff with Wi-Fi connectivity; however the 3G capability is not available yet on the devices. In fact the iPad will work while others have failed. The touch screen tablet PC is not a new thing and In fact, many companies have failed in the past trying to make profit on these. In spite of these downsides, the Touch is a great media player, and the iPad remains the best end-to-end portable solution for playing and purchasing music and video.
